Brennan Lowrey holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from Texas Tech University, where he studied violin under Professor Annie Chalex-Boyle. He is an active freelance performer, composer, and violin teacher. He has performed as a member of the Wildwood Chamber Soloists, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, and Texas Tech University Syymphony Orchestra. He has also worked as a teaching assistant in the private studio of Drew Irvin, the concertmaster of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.

 

In 2018, he was named the winner of the Texas MTNA State Competition Young Artist Division in Waco, Texas. He was also named as a finalist in the 2016 Stella Boyle Smith Young Artist Competition and the winner of the 2015 Arkansas MTNA State Competion Senior Strings division. In 2013, he was named the winner of the composition division of the UALR Piano and Strings Festival competition.

 

While pursuing his bachelor’s degree, he received chamber music instruction from Dr. Mark Morton, Professor Clara Zahler, Professor Jeffrey Lastrapes, and Dr. John Gilbert. He also performed in the University Symphony Orchestra under the batons of Dr. Philip Mann and Professor David E. Becker. He has performed in masterclasses for Augustin Hadelich, Desiree Ruhstrat, and Cornelia Heard, among others. During the summers of 2014 to 2020, he participated in the Hot Springs Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and the NYU Steinhardt Summer Strings Program, where he studied with Professor Annie Chalex-Boyle, Professors Bayla Keyes and Janet Sung, and Professors Cyrus Beroukhim and Giora Schmidt, respectively.

 

Before beginning his undergraduate studies, he studied violin under Drew Irvin and Judy Warner, and composition under Dr. Robert Boury.
